Magical 25 Season

Before we march on to the next season, it’s important to appreciate how magical the ’25 season was.

We all know about the Bears. Anytime the Bears beat the Puke 2/3 times and eliminate them from the playoffs in the most dramatic and heartbreaking fashion imaginable – is a GREAT season even without a SB ring.

Add to that all the cardiac comebacks, the rest of the NFCN crumbling like a house of cards while the Bears [who were frequently ranked 4rth in the NFCN] won the div, plus the primetime games, Bears actually becoming “cool” for the first time since perhaps ’85, and reversing the narrative of the Bad News Bears, the loveable losers, to the – can’t miss winners…The 2025 Season was indeed box set worthy.

But as ThatsGoodSports reminds, it wasn’t just the Bears. The ’25 Season could be coined the Season of Shock. The Bears weren’t the only team preseason power-rankers predicted would suck – many ‘experts’ also assumed the Pats were in total rebuild. Well, they made the SB! [I still wholeheartedly believe if the Bears faced the Pats in the SB, the Bears would’ve won, and no matter the score, it would’ve been as epic as the ’85 curbstomp].

But wait, there’s more…again, the Miss Cleos prognosticated that the Chiefs or Chargers would win the AFCW, then the Broncos bucked that narrative fast, being a healthy ankle away from the SB.
As it turns out, the closest men to me who follow football, my brother-in-law and step-dad, are huge Pats and Donk fans respectively, so it was kinda cool, and maybe the ONLY time in our lives, when all 3 were actual SB contenders.

But wait, there’s more…it’s easy to forget about Indiana Jones and how the Colts were on absolute fire the first half of the season, and then old man Rivers gets up from his couch, kisses his 20 children goodbye, and throws on the pads!

and oh yeah, SEAHAWKS winning it all with Sam “I see ghosts” Darnold. Google how QBs, including Darnold, performed in the ’25 playoffs as a sidebar. Once more, Vegas had them as the 3rd best team in the NFCW behind the 9ers and Rams.

I don’t know how Vegas profited last football season, but if you were a crazed homer for any of those teams and bet your mortgage on them in the summer, congrats on your new Porsche AMC Pacer 928 Edition!

So before we move forward, one last salute to the ’25 season.

Oh, and as always.

OT. I don’t watch College Football because the idea of buying super-teams disgusts me. What could negate the spirit of sports [fair competition] more?

Exhibit A.
