Notable Cuts and Waivers The Bears released Salvon Ahmed, Stephen Carlson, Marcus Davenport, Wesley French, James Lynch, Scotty Miller, Jon Rhattigan, and Jack Sanborn. Several players were waived, including Maurice Alexander, Kiran Amegadjie, Kaden Davis, Ruben Hyppolite II (injury), and Terell Smith (injury). The team also settled injuries with Jedrick Wills, Brittain Brown, Tony Fields, Jaylon Jones, and Ray-Ray McCloud III.
Lil surprised about Ahmed not making it, but HBs really have to wow to stick. I also expected Sanborn to make the cut, but Bears only going with 4 LBs. Thus ends the Kiran/Hyppo/Wills/Carlson experiments – not with a bang but a whimper.
Hopefully Terell Smith finds his way to Practice Squad given the MASH unit that is our secondary. He looked sharp to me. Someone will likely poach Kaden Davis.
I expect more transactions to go down now that others have cut some players which may entice Poles. Often, it’s the teams played in PS, so wouldn’t shock me if Bears stash a Titan or Bengal and continue to chisel the roster. Maybe even a surprise trade. Stay tuned…
