    Bear-less Sunday WK13

“Taking a Peek into the Holidays”

Considering the last time two Bears’ running backs rushed for 100+ ea, thought this apropos. When Sweetness was dying, Suhey used to drive by his house to check-in. Sweetness would be lying on his couch, then at a certain time of day, raise his hand, stick up his middle-finger; Suhey could see it through the window, knew he was still kicking and keep driving.

They would be proud of the trucking this past Black Friday.

Since Packers and Lions already played, that leaves the Vikings who scare no one going forward.

Still on a Friday high, so in case you thought you were hallucinating about the Bears crushing the defending world champs in Philly, here’s a great seg from the Eagles’ side.

“It wasn’t just that they were able to defeat us with physicality; it was scheme. They were putting guys in motion…seemed like the DEs didn’t know if they were going left or right…reverses, jet sweeps…they had no answer for duo [double-teams] while Monangai was just knocking guys out. It was Embarrassing” – Barrett Brooks

“Most rushing yards against the Eagles since 1973. Most in Philly since 1962. I think today we saw what a real [Bears’] offense looks like, efficient, unpredictable, creative, inventive, keeps you off balance ” – Reuben Frank

“Philly invested so much in that d-line, and they just got mauled. Power-football, Bully-ball – and we just took it.” – Jaws

It sounds like the Bears fomented a complete existential crisis for the Eagles. I guess it ain’t always sunny in Philly…

    Enjoy your R&R, boys…

Drake Maye vs Jets 1st half:
Maye completed his first 11 passes going 14-for-16 [78%] for 140 yards. One of the misses was a long bomb that may have been INTed
Maye’s also 73.5% with a 113.2 QB rating for the season.

Would love to see Caleb start with that efficiency, so he can leave the cape in the phone booth for once. Be better for all our hearts.

Pretty cool vid here. Kinda behind the scenes and a great insight into current Halas and Ben Johnson locker room. That Washington game may be bigger than even the pundits imagined.

Win, he must. Overcome the darkside of inconsistency, he will.

Let’s hope their run game gets bogged down like that X-wing in the swamp.

Knock on wood. Bear down, jabrones!

    If it ain’t broke…

Is this a ‘trap game’? Seems to fit the definition – catching a meh team on a short week at home after an emotional win.

I’ve caught some Saints this season. Numbers say their pass D suck, but outside the Bills and Seahawks beating them handily, and stomping the GMEN 26-14, they’ve been in one score games including the last one against a tough Pats’ team.

In that game, Spencer Rattler completed 76.9% for 227, no TD/INTs, and 106.7 QB rating, so these guys aren’t just gonna roll over

Bears have racked up 11 TOs on their win streak, and one must imagine that streak will end sooner or later. I mean, if they go +3 TOs the rest of the way, they can damn near beat anyone.

The real test will come when they don’t create those TOs.

How will they respond then? Will their D give up a bunch of TDs, or will they force FGs?
God forbid make 3rd down stops…

Will the O take it up a notch to make up for essentially 3 extra drives?

One of my biggest question is if D’Andre Swift can continue stacking big runs off his 7.7 YPC performance?

Ben Johnson went with the K.I.S.S. philo for the run, and it worked; however, NFL watches tape too.

If everything goes right – D continues to steal TOs – Swift runs for over 4.5 ypc, Caleb plays efficiently with tactical strikes…

Then this game should be in hand by the late 3rd.

Though let’s be real, we’re all Bear fans. No such thing as an ‘easy win’ for this team especially if it’s super windy and rainy.

As such, I expect more nail-biting Tradewinding into the crunch. At least they won’t be playing against the refs, right?

    Once more, into the breach!
